Karen Kirby, CSJ taught primary grades in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland for 20 years. She served on the Diocesan Pastoral Council for an extended term making the service a 5 year term to redefine the council. For three of those years, she served as Chair or Co-chair. In 1993 she accepted the challenge to create The WellSpring Bookstore. It involved dealing with contractors to rehab the structure, becoming incorporated, learning business, boards, finances. After 11 years she is still the president and manager of WellSpring. She is currently on the Board of South Elyria Neighborhood Development and serves on committees and the executive committee. She is a member of the Association of Catholic Booksellers of the United States and Canada as and serves as the editor of the newsletter for this association.
