New Ventures Board of Directors

[Donna Capuano, OSU] Donna Capuano, OSU, is an Ursuline Sister of Cleveland. She is the Founder and Director of the Career Transition Office located in the Ursuline Sophia Center. The Center is an entrepreneural ministry of the Ursulines where for five years she also served as the Executive Director. Donna holds a Masters in Educational Administration, certification in the Management of Lifelong Education from Harvard University and certified training in Career Management. Her first career spanned education from teacher to college administrator. She then entered the corporate world as a consultant and finally as an enterpreneur began the Career Transition Office. She has held leadership roles on several Boards and national and state organizations. She has written many articles, and given numerous presentations and workshops locally and nationally. Regina Fox

Regina Fox, SSND, is a nonprofit consultant with experience facilitating diverse groups, including mature and startup organizations. She specializes in strategic, board and development planning for nonprofit organizations as well as pastoral council development and planning. Her background as the first administrator of Notre Dame High School, the first development director of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Louis, and as cofounder of a St. Louis metropolitan area AIDS service organization, broadens her understanding of clients' concerns. Regina also served as a board member with emerging and established agencies, so she recognizes the challenges of the nonprofit environment.

She is at ease as a facilitator, presenter, and consultant to:

  • conduct organization assessments
  • enhance administrative management
  • facilitate planning retreats and other meetings
  • develop boards to increase financial commitment
  • strengthen annual giving programs
  • improve visibility through coordinated communications
  • organize and market special events

Carol Ann Killoran, SSJ-TOSF is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. Carol Ann holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois. She began her ministerial career as a high school teacher and then served for a while as the program director in a residential facility for drug rehabilitation. For more than twelve years, she served as a member of a pastoral team at a Cleveland area parish. Both her experiences and her studies formed the foundation for the creation of Professional Pastoral Counseling Services, her current entrepreneurial endeavor. Carol Ann is a certified Pastoral Counselor and utilizes a holistic approach in supporting the individual in the integration of personal and spiritual growth. (drcak27@aol.com)

[Karen Kirby, CSJ] Karen Kirby, CSJ taught primary grades in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland for 20 years. She served on the Diocesan Pastoral Council for an extended term making the service a 5 year term to redefine the council. For three of those years, she served as Chair or Co-chair. In 1993 she accepted the challenge to create The WellSpring Bookstore. It involved dealing with contractors to rehab the structure, becoming incorporated, learning business, boards, finances. After 11 years she is still the president and manager of WellSpring. She is currently on the Board of South Elyria Neighborhood Development and serves on committees and the executive committee. She is a member of the Association of Catholic Booksellers of the United States and Canada as and serves as the editor of the newsletter for this association. (wscsj606@aol.com)

[C. Rose Miles, SFCC] C. Rose Miles, SFCC is a Sister For Christian Community residing in San Diego, CA.  She is an independent Financial Consultant and has been an NASD licensed investment professional since 1978.  Rose has provided investment products and services through major investment firms, the thrift industry and in private practice. She has also worked in sales and marketing in her own investment practice and in public relations, fund raising and personnel administration for an international educational corporation. Rose has served as board member and as financial consultant to commercial and to non-profit organizations. She is Co-founder of the Hope and Roses Girls Teen Group for at-risk youth in north Philadelphia and is currently serving as chaplain and group support facilitator for homeless women at a major transitional living center in San Diego. She brings experience as an entrepreneur and in financial and risk management to those working toward self-discovery and self-sustainability.  (Srstox@aol.com)

[Robbie Pentecost, OSF] Since 1995 Robbie Pentecost, OSF, has worked with various rural non-profit organizations throughout Appalachia as consultant, board member and staff. During this time she developed the curriculum to teach women in eastern Kentucky how to run their own businesses. For the past 3 ½ years, Robbie served as the Executive Director of the Catholic Committee of Appalachia serving the region covered by 27 Catholic dioceses. She has recently assumed the position of Development Project Leader with the Christian Appalachian Project. In this position she develops fundraising strategies for new projects. Prior to moving to Appalachia, Robbie participated in the creation of McMurphy's Grill, a restaurant training program for the mentally ill
homeless in downtown St. Louis. Robbie holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University and an MBA from St. Louis University. She has been a member of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana since 1984.

[Agnes Ann Schum, SL] Agnes Ann Schum, SL, a Sister of Loretto, lives in Lebanon, Ky. She has a BA from Webster University and an MA from St. Louis University. Education, social justice advocacy and empowering others has been part of her life in many ways. She is a member of the International Enneagram Association and presents this personality system in a variety of settings, retreats, professional groups, family relationships, and personal growth. She is currently working with The Caring Place, a small rural shelter in central Kentucky, where she mentors young women in a work setting and in their personal lives. (AASchum@cs.com)
