Practical Resources ... Personal Development by Carol Ann Killoran, SSJ-TOSF

What is Stress?

Stress is part of life. Stress is a maladaptive physical, psychological, and behavioral response when you tell you are unable to cope with a request or situation. Mindfulness meditation is a personally supportive response by you for you to have balance in your life.

Exercise

  • Are you feeling tense?
  • Are you having negative thoughts?

STOP

  • Notice your breath. Gently inhale, slowly counting up to 4 then gently exhale slowing counting to 4.
  • Your mind may wonder, gently notice your thought and return to
    concentrating on your breath.
  • Praise yourself for STOPPING and attending to you.
